Thomas Porcher Ravenel (1850-1936) was born in Pinopolis, South Carolina. He was a prominent lawyer in Savannah and was a partner of Rufus Ezekiel Lester in the firm Lester & Ravenel. For a time, William Livingston Kenan of Darien, Georgia, was also a partner, during which period the firm's name was Lester, Ravenel & Kenan.
